Once upon a swooning afternoon in the beer-scented streets of Milwaukee, a tender soul known only as Mae Nora wandered into the world, born with a peculiar and most divine affliction: the inability to remain upright when life became too overwhelming, too glamorous, or too damned absurd.

From an early age, Mae Nora could not resist a well-timed faint. Whether it was the sight of a poorly blended contour, an unsnatched wigline, or the horrors of unseasoned Midwestern casseroles — down she’d go, dramatically clutching her pearls like a Victorian widow at a funeral for her last fuck to give.

It was during one particularly legendary faint — at a beer bust fundraiser hosted by the Abbey of the Brew City Sisters — that her true calling was revealed. Collapsing gracefully into the arms of an unsuspecting queen, she awoke surrounded by white-faced nuns, rhinestones glinting like stars through the haze of light-headed epiphany. The Sisters, recognizing the sacred art of both drama and vulnerability, saw a kindred spirit in Mae Nora.

With time, it became clear that her journey wasn't meant to end in Brew City. After a brief sabbatical of fainting at pride parades, brunches, and the occasional craft store (purely for the spectacle), Mae Nora heard the call of the Mad City Sisters — who, like a collection of glittery, chaotic, and truly mad drag nuns, welcomed her with open arms and smelling salts.

Now fully professed and ever-prepared with a fan for both flair and air, Sister Mae Nora, The Falling Nun, dedicates her life to the holy work of Queer ministry, compassionate clownery, and the sacred art of hitting the floor with style.

For in a world where the weight of judgment can knock anyone off their feet, Mae Nora chooses to fall — so others can learn to rise.
